Description
Die Shell PLC (zuvor Royal Dutch Shell PLC) ist im Sommer 2005 durch die Fusion der niederländischen Royal Dutch Petroleum und der britischen Shell Transport & Trading Plc entstanden. Die Gruppe deckt die ganze Wertschöpfungskette von der Förderung zu Wasser und zu Lande, über das Raffinieren und Speichern bis hin zum Transport, dem Handel und Vertrieb von Öl und Gas ab. Dazu zählt auch der Verkauf von Erdgas, Schiffs- und Flugzeugbenzin und petrochemischen Basisprodukten, die zur Herstellung von Kunststoffen verwendet werden. Neben der Stromerzeugung berät Shell in Fragen der Energieeffizienz. Investitionen in erneuerbare Energien runden das Engagement ab. Das Geschäft gliedert sich in die Segmente Upstream (Exploration & Produktion, Gas & Power inkl. Wind und Ölsand), Downstream (Ölprodukte, Chemikalien und Solaraktivitäten) und Corporate.
