The FTSE MIB index
The FTSE MIB index is the major stock market index for Italy and contains the 40 largest and most liquid Italian blue chip companies. The FTSE MIB index represents around 80% of the Italian total market capitalisation. The index constituents are weighted by free float market capitalisation. In order to avoid over-concentration the weight of each company is capped at 15%.
