Description
JBS SA engages in the processing of beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and also produces value added and convenience food products. It operates through the following business segments: JBS Brazil, Seara, USA Beef, USA Pork, and Pilgrim's Pride. The JBS Brazil segment includes all the operating activities from Company and its subsidiaries, mainly represented by slaughter facilities, cold storage and meat processing, fat, and feed and production of beef by-products such as leather, collagen and others products produced in Brazil. The Seara segment includes all the operating activities of Seara and its subsidiaries, mainly represented by chicken and pork processing, production and commercialization of food products. The USA Beef segment includes JBS USA's operations, including Australia and Canada as well, related to beef processing: slaughter, cold storage, production and others beef byproducts, besides cattle fattening services. The USA Pork segment includes JBS USA's pork operations, including Plumrose and Australia as well, related to slaughter, cold storage, production and commercialization of food products. The Pilgrim's Pride includes poultry, pork, and beef production. The company was founded by José Batista Sobrinho in 1953 and is headquartered in Vila Jaguara, Brazil.
